Blaze Media Pro is a multimedia product that can just as easily function as a video editing and media management program as it can an audio editing software program. The program alone has its fair share of merits, but with its additional video and multimedia abilities, many of the missing audio editing features are made up for.

Mystic Media also offers AudioEdit Deluxe, but for just $10 more, you can get Blaze Media Pro that does audio and video editing. The audio editing software can work with more formats than any other product and can record or pull audio from just about any source. It can also help you burn CDs and DVDs.

Although this product is easy to use and a great package deal, it does not include as many audio editing tools as other programs. This program primarily is best at conversions, recording and burning.

Audio Editing:

This program can perform almost any type of conversion; it can even merge different file formats. It also has the ability to apply many effects including amplification, fade in/out, pitch changes, re-sampling and stretching.

The audio editing software has a few good filtering options including band pass and high/low shelf. However, it is not the best product for audio restoration or signal analyzing; it does not include a smoother, noise reducer or pop/plick remover.

Recording/Burning:

Blaze Media Pro is an excellent recorder. It can rip CD files, pull audio from video files, record from streaming audio, sound cards, line-in and can work with MIDI files.

It also works with many format types, including MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG as well as AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV and can pull images from BMP, GIF, TIF and many more options. It can help you burn your created CDs like a pro.

Ease of Use:

Audio editors of any experience level can figure out how to use the features of this product. The main screen includes helpful icons, drop down menus and you can adjust the playback, record and zoom options. Installation of the product went very well. It was a little hard to get used to right away, but once we got familiar with it, we felt completely capable to use the software.

Help/Support:

This program supports an inter-program help section and online FAQs, free updates and technical support by email. When we contacted Mystic Media regarding whether this program will run with Vista we received a quick reply and they related that it will run with Vista.

Summary:

Blaze Media Pro is a good product for those interested in converting files, recording or burning. It is well known because it is very versatile with many audio files, but it is a little limited on its editing tools and features. If your main focus is converting and burning, then this would be a great product for you, but if it’s otherwise, we suggest that you refer to the top-rated products that we reviewed.
