For restoration and forensic applications, this is one of the best audio editors. Diamond Cut Productions, Inc. offers a variety of audio editors; however, we reviewed DC Millennium, which is one of their lower priced options.

This program is designed to restore old phonograph recordings and clean up cylinder recordings, hill and dale Edison Diamond Discs, 78s, vinyl LPs and 45s. It includes a variety of useful filters for restoring or cleaning up audio files, such as band, FFT, brick wall, notch, pop/ plick filters and a noise reducer. It has a graphic and a paragraphic equalizer and all of the filters are adjustable.

Beyond restoration tools, it also includes a number of easy to use effects such as fade in/out, cross fading and can reduce vocals.

However, this is not the easiest product to use and includes complex analyzing tools such as a spectrum analyzer, VU meter, X-Y Vector and time displays. If you are interested in restoring or cleaning up audio tracks such as recordings from the radio, forensic tapes, aged recording or live recording this is an excellent choice.

Alternatively, if you are primarily interested in ripping or burning CDs or need a product that can convert between wide varieties of formats you may want to look at Dexster Audio or Blaze Media Pro.
