Fx Audio Editor, by J. Hepple Inc, can quickly rip a CD or convert audio formats and can edit, play and record most sound formats and save as WAV, MP2, MP3, VOX, WMA or other popular formats. It also comes with CD burning software.

Although this product can help you restore old audio recordings, it does not come with preset smoother or pop/plick filters or a noise reducer. Nevertheless, if you know what you are doing, this product is a good program for restoring aged or damaged audio recordings.

Audio Editing:  

This product includes some advanced editing tools such as a batch processor and an equalizer. It has a quick mouse scroll zoom and the ability to edit tag information. However, it would be nice if the software included the ability to set cue points, a frequency tuner or a processor.

It includes at least 15 preset effects and offers eight filters, including a band pass, notch and FFT filter.

Recording/Burning:  

This program can easily record from a line-in, streaming audio or rip from a CD. It even includes CD burning components and is compatible with a wide variety of formats such as AIFF (which the iPod uses), AU, several WAV types and WMA.

Ease of Use:  

This software is easy to use, the main screen contains many icons to speed up your editing as well as record and play options displayed for quick adjustments of source or access to the mixer.

Help/Support:  

All of the tools and features are expounded upon in an excellent help section, a glossary and online tutorials. The software also includes a helpful section that explains audio formats. When we contacted this provider we always recieved prompt replies. We asked them whether this program will run with Vista and they said it does.

Summary:  

Fx Audio Editor has some quick and easy to use recording and converting options, it also includes one of the best selections of filters to make restoring work a breeze.
